(1) hard /hardly
This mountain is hard to climb. (이 산은 오르기 힘들다.) < hard는 형용사 >
He worked hard in his school days. (그는 학창시절에 열심히 공부했다.)< hard는 부사 >
She hardly eat anything. (그녀는 좀처럼 먹지 않는다) <hardly 준부정어 >
(2) fast
She is a fast runner. (그녀는 빨리 달린다.)< fast는 형용사 >
She runs fast. (그녀는 빨리 달린다.)< fast는 부사 >
(3) long
Today was a long day. (오늘은 길게 느껴지는 하루였다.)
My grandma lived long. (나의 할머니께서는 오래 사셨다.)
(4) late
We had a late dinner today. (우리는 오늘 저녁을 늦게 먹었다.)< late는 형용사 >
They arrived an hour late. (그들은 한 시간 늦게 도착했다.)< late는 부사 >
참고:「~을 잘하다」는 표현은 부사 well이나 형용사 good을 이용해 다음과 같이 나타낼 수 있다.
He plays baseball well. (그는 야구를 잘한다.)
= He is good at playing baseball.
= He is a good baseball player.
